| Environment extension (.envx) Script |
This script lets you add an environment extension (.envx) file to your world depending on the avatar's location - you can see it in action here. You can set an area in your world that the avatar's entry will trigger the display of the .envx file or turn it off when the avatar leaves the area. This can be really useful for a number of purposes e.g. adding in a staircase. You can easily edit the script to change:
You can download the zip file here. After you've downloaded it, extract the file to the Scripts directory of a Blink3d project:
Feel free to adapt this as necessary - the script file is commented to show you the bits to 'tweak' to suit. NB there seems to be a problem with the builder at present when "unloading" an .envx file and then loading it again (a javascript error will be displayed but it still works) - we hope there will be a work round for this in the future. Now all you need to do is republish your world with the Blink 3D builder and the feature be added to the published page. Whenever you make any changes to the script please remember to republish your world afterwards as these changes only get added after publishing. If you find the code useful and include it in one of your worlds we'd appreciate you leaving the acknowledgement to hsworlds.com in the file or adding a link to our site on the website you're displaying it on (we're always happy to post an exchange link to you in return if you let us know). If you have any comments about the code or want help with using or adapting it please visit our forum. |
